Purchasing (Procurement) Assistant

Working under the supervision of the Purchasing Director, the Purchasing Assistant works with overseas vendors to place orders that satisfy the needs of the company’s supply chain. They conduct administrative and support activities to keep the purchasing department running efficiently. The assistant must also maintain inventory and transaction records.


Responsibilities

  • Monitor stock levels and identify purchasing needs
  • Update internal databases with order details
  • Prepare cost analyses
  • Maintain updated records of transactions
  • Follow up with vendors
  • Liaise with warehouses


Qualifications/Skills:

  • Good understanding of supply chain procedures
  • Hands-on experience with purchasing software
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel
  • Solid organizational skills
  • Interpersonal skills; player of results-oriented team, adaptability
  • Ability to work under pressure and learn fast; recognized for your effectiveness.
  • Experience with ACCPAC accounting software would be an asset.
  • Job Types: Full-time, Permanent (8 hour shift)


Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

  • Work experience of 3-5 years
